Terra Mining successfully completes works at Porphyry Gold Mine

Terra Mining has successfully completed works at Porphyry Gold Mine, near Kalgoorlie in Western Australia, for Norton Gold Fields. This marks the conclusion of yet another successful project between the two organisations, further developing their strategic partnership.

Ree Dai, Terra Mining’s Managing Director, spoke to the successful completion at Porphyry, stating “Project’s don’t just happen. This was a highly technical operation – with 3 cutbacks required due to pit design changes. Our team were phenomenal in consistently moving with the shape of the project – adjusting planning and personnel to respond to changing conditions and scope.”

Across the sixteen months Porphyry was operational, over 2.5 million banked cubic metres of materiel was moved, with peak production seeing over 100 staff supported by 20 machines operating on site.

“Flexibility and dynamism is the calling card of successful teams. Martin Matenga, our Production Superintendent, demonstrated exceptional leadership throughout the project, delivering a strong result which has led to brilliant feedback from one of our key clients,” added Mr Dai, concluding “Martin was supported by one of our best teams, with our Maintenance Manager Steve Harvey delivering consistently high levels of machine availability ensuring that targets were steadily achieved. A highly professional team effort from all involved. The performance of the Terra team at Porphyry continues to burnish our growing reputation as a reliable partner for resources projects.”
